The Saint Albans Museum is located in a three-story schoolhouse, the former Church Street Academy, built in 1861. The building is one of several historic structures surrounding the picturesque Taylor Park green, which borders Main Street (Route 7). The Museum features comprehensive exhibits about local and regional history, including: the St. Albans Raid (the northernmost land action of the Civil War), a historic classroom, community organizations and businesses, Abenaki archaeology, Vermont medicine, the Central Vermont Railway, our French-Canadian heritage, and more! Our newest displays focus on St. Albans and World War I, as well as the agricultural history of Franklin County. There truly is something for everyone!
The Museum is open for the 2018 Vermont Maple Festival on: Friday, April 27 and Saturday, April 28.
A special maple exhibit will be featured, and the Museum is fully accessible with plenty of convenient parking.
Date and time to be announced.
LeClair will be making and showing the art of carving. The works of art he creates during the festival will be auctioned off after the parade at the Main Street stage. Come enjoy!
